Scuds allowed in aquarium?
I bought live plants that had scuds aka Gammarus that came in the bag.
Is it ok to put these into my tank?
PS : Freshwater, obviously.
20 gallon tank. Fish are 2 Tetras that are 1" and 1.5", 1 Platy, 1 Red Tail Shark, 1 Betta fish.
Also many small snails (also came with plants), Ramshorn snail, and live plants.
I understand they eat plants, but is it noticeable/threatening to the plant? There are 3 1/4" scuds. There is plenty of fish crap for the scuds to eat up, which would be nice. Help with my gravel cleaning, lol.

there's a chance the red tail or betta might kill off the scuds, from what I've read on them they aren't really much of a parasite they can attack injured fish or stressed fish but mostly stay in the plants. the snails are bad news though, it might not bother you at first but they multiply fast and take over the tank. safest method to get rid of snails is getting a loach pretty much any kind will get the job done but i don't know if you can afford to put another fish in the tank since they can get pretty big, especially clown loaches which will get huge. there are chemicals you can use to kill snails but i dont know anything about them but it doesnt sound safe to me.
